Peter C.
Private tutor in San Jose, CA
Education
Bachelor of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon University
Experience
I have been a full-time CAHSEE tutor and Algebra I instructor, and have been a private tutor in many subjects ranging from AP U.S. History to Trigonometry. I've worked with a wide range of students, from the wealthiest families in the Bay Area to the poorest. In terms of skills, I've experience with gifted students and those with learning disabilities (IEPs and Section 504 Plans), and everywhere on the spectrum in between. Each and every student deserves respect and attention to their specific needs, and each course they are taking has its own challenges and rewards. It is my pleasure to help students achieve their academic goals, to open up new worlds of subject matter new and encourage better learning behaviors.

Hobbies
I am a nerd of the classical sort: computer gaming, history, mythology and the like. Thus, I like to make studying a game, or an epic adventure of sorts. It should be fun, and it should have a touch of magic to it. My favorite tutor from history has to be Aristotle. His best-known pupil was a young boy from Macedonia that went on to be called Alexander the Great. Now there's a true story of a tutor-student that we can all learn from!
