Hi, I'm Jon I will be graduating in June 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Linguistics from the University of California Los Angeles. Academically, I have excelled at UCLA in a broad range of classes ranging from Managerial Accounting to Algorithms and Complexity Analysis. At UCLA, I learned that the classes I appreciated the most weren't necessarily the topics I was most interested in. Rather, it was the professors who made the classes enjoyable. These professors were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the material and willing to go the extra mile when I asked for additional help or clarification. I try to incorporate that fact to my tutoring approach and do everything I can to make learning enjoyable and engaging. I create personalized lesson plans in which I typically introduce the topic in a creative way then explicitly teach the material. Afterwards, I always ensure time for students to practice the material on their own. One teaching method doesn't work for everyone and of course your lesson can be adjusted accordingly based on the subject and individual needs. I have over three years of private and group tutoring experience.
