Private tutor in San Jose, CA
University of Southern California - B.A, Sociology, Human Rights
Hi, my name is Monica. I have an associate's degree in Sociology, Anthropology, and Liberal Arts. After receiving my first three degrees, I went to the University of Southern California, where I won several fellowships and scholarships. Through those fellowships and scholarships, I was able to design, conduct, and complete my own undergraduate research. My thesis then earned honors upon graduation. I then had the opportunity to share my findings across the United States at various universities.During my studies, I tutored many children and young adults in Spanish up to the AP college level. I also taught kindergarten through college students in Spanish, English, Grammar, Writing, Editing, and Reading. I enjoy seeing my students' reactions when they finally grasp a subject they have been struggling with. Their reactions are the reason I continue to tutor. I focus on learning about my students and their needs. Every student learns differently, and I make sure I teach them in a manner that they respond to the best.Teaching and learning aren't my only passions. I have also served in the U.S. Air Force as a Military Police Officer. I was able to travel the world and my favorite place to live was South Korea. When I am not teaching or studying, I enjoy writing, painting, camping, hiking, traveling, football, softball, watching movies, and reading.
