Education
I graduated with a BS in Physics from SUNY Geneseo in New York. This is one of the premier undergraduate physics programs in America. After undergrad I received a PhD from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Semiconductor Engineering. My thesis was titled "Design and Development of Stress Engineering techniques for III-Nitrides on Si". All of that will likely mean nothing to you but basically I worked on trying to put LED material on Si substrates to lower costs.
Experience
As an undergraduate I tutored physics and math for 3 years. I taught kids of all majors physics and really enjoyed it. I have also taught undergraduate labs in electricity and optics. As a graduate student I thought undergraduate classes and received rave reviews from the students. MY favorite part about science is how it impacts our every day life so I try to tie in every day examples to the topic at hand. I really feel there are a lot of bad science teachers out there. Many try teaching at too high of a level or think they are superior because they know science which hurts their ability to trust teach. I do everything in my power to make sure this doesn't happen.
