I graduated from De Anza College with a 4.0 GPA in Spring 2013. 2) UCLA: I transferred to UCLA to finish my undergraduate studies. I majored in neuroscience with a minor in biomedical research. I recently graduated summa cum laude from UCLA. GPA= 3.95

Experience

I have been tutoring for over four years. When I was in high school, I started tutoring elementary school and middle school students, as well as my peers that were struggling academically. While I was attending De Anza College, I started working as Math and Science in De Anza College Tutorial Center. Initially, I worked with students with learning disabilities. Later on, I became a group tutor, teaching a group of students that were taking the same course. I tutored subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus. After transferring to UCLA, I continued to tutor elementary school, middle school, and high school students. Because of my major and my outstanding academic achievements, I was teaching assistant in some of my upper division neurobiology courses. I also tutored other UCLA students courses such as physics, genetics, molecular biology, and neuroanatomy. At UCLA, I was also a member of a student-run organization, called school of wheels. We went to homeless shelters and helped this vulnerable population academically. With my tutoring experience for more than four years, I was exposed to diverse population of students. For example, I had multiple students that had ADHD. Hence, I learned how to handle different situations when working with students.

Hobbies

I love swimming. I started swimming when I was four, and I have continued this sport since then. Painting is my favorite hobby. It helps me put away all the tension and stress behind, and fully focus on the task in hand. I enjoy community outreach when my schedule permits. It was a big component of my undergraduate life. I used to work with the low-income and homeless population of Los Angeles County, and teach children and high school students.
